 Task1-learning style inventory

The first topic of UED102 course is about learning style learning inventory. But first what is learning style inventory? From what I`ve learnt so far learning style inventory is to help student determine which learning style they have. There are three types of learning style commonly used in the world. The three types are visual, auditory and kinesthetic. In this post I will explain to you guys all those three types of learning style inventory.

LEARNING STYLE 1:VISUAL

The visual learning style, often referred to as spatial learning style, is a way of learning in which information is associated by images .This learning style require learners to gain information from the images. People with a visual learning style often referred to as visual spatial learners.

LEARNING STYLE 2:AUDITORY

Auditory learning is a style in which an individual learns most efficiently through listening. A person who is an auditory learner receive information better through speech or sound. These individuals are typically good listeners and can easily remember information that have been spoken.

LEARNING STYLE 3:KINESTHETIC

Kinesthetic learning is a learning style in which an individual learns by carrying out physical activites, rather than listening to a lecture or watching demonstrations. Kinesthetic learners have an excellent physical memory. They learn quickly and permanently what they do as they learning. Example of physical activities are swimming, dancing, running, and other sports.

                      Task6-memories strategies

Add caption

What is memory?

-Memory is the ability to save and remain the information and experience.

There are three types of memory:

§  Sensory memory

§  Short-term memory

§  Long term memory

1)     Sensory memory

-Sensory memory is one of the shortest-term and can make up ability to process and recall what you see. Sensory memory can only store for 30 seconds up to 24 hours. If you didn`t practice or recall daily the information will be lost.

2)     Short-term memory

-Short-term memory is a limited storage. It`s for holding information but not manipulating and a small amount of information active are available in a short amount of time.

3)     Long-term memory

-Long-term memory is a system where information stored permanently, managing and retrieving. Without being said you can remember the information for a long time. But if you`re not practicing it daily It will be lost as well.

MEMORIES STRATEGIES

It is important to know what is the right strategies for our memory to function well. Memories strategies help us to remember facts, consist of storing information and making the information available to recall.

Take a look at the test above. This test will determine if you have or not a good memories strategies. Me as myself I only got 4 point and that`s mean I need to make memories strategies.

First we need to know why do people keep forget in their life

It is because;

1)They do not pay attention to the information

2)Lack of practice

3)Last minute study

4)Lack of motivation

So how to improve memories?

We can improve our memories by;

1)Pay extra attention to difficult information

2)Do more practice on the information

3)Avoid last minute study

4)Vary your study routine

task7-organizational strategies

Most students need guidance and systematic instruction to learn and develop organizational strategies. Organization is one of the most problem for most of the student in college.

There's many way you can stay well-organized.

It is:

1)Work and Study Spaces

-Student should have identified spaces in home as they learning and studying. The space should be free noises and any kind of distractions. A clear work space, good lighting, access to necessary supplies and a comfortable atmosphere that fit with student personality.

2)Study Supplies

-Some student always missing out their study equipment whenever they want to start doing their work or study. For example they might have to go back and fourth just to take their study supplies. Student should have a box which they can keep all their study supplies there. This will help them motivated to continue to do their work and can save time and energy.

3)Time Management

-Effective time management allows student to complete more in less time period because their attention is to focus in their work or studies. Also this will lead student to avoid distractions such as social media for example. A good time management also can reduce stress.

Based on the activity above, this will show you the result to have a good organizational strategies.

For the first activity I only manage to remember 7 out of 12 word that is

-Newspaper, train, crayon, chalk, pen, book, comic book, automobile

For the second activity I manage to get 11 out of 12 word that is

-Magazine, newspaper , book, comic book

-Pen, pencil, chalk, crayon

-Train, bus, automobile

                      task8-concentration strategies

Concentration is a focus of the mind and the ability to hold the awareness of mind at one point to one place without wavering. The perfection of concentration leads to meditation. In the state of concentration, your mind is not aware of the external enviroment or other peripheral thing that surround the object of concentration.

task11-note-taking strategies

Is it important?

Taking good notes in class is an important part and element of academic success in college. Actively, taking notes during classes can help you to focus and have a better understanding. Good note-taking will improve your active listening, comprehension of material and retention.

9 Ways To Take Better Notes

  • Take Complete Notes
  • Take Detailed Notes
  • Revise Your Notes
  • Don't Worry About Spelling
  • Use Cornell Method
  • Handwritten Notes
  • Use Colorful Pen
  • Do Mind Mapping Note

task12-note-taking exercise using cornell method

  • There is only 10% of an audio lecture may last in memory, but students who take and review their notes can recall up to 80% of the lecture. That is the main reason why we should make lecture notes.
  • It will help student to me more organize as student can be more concentrate in the class. It is also helps student to learn and remember the information for a long period of time.

There is a few effective note take system. It is:

1)CORNELL METHOD SYSTEM

2)The Informal Outline

3)The Black Method

4)The Modified Black Method

Activity 2-Video Using Cornell Method

Activity 3-Text

The Modified Black Method

The Modified Black Method

Cell

Cell is the smallest - a capacity for metabolism, controlled responses to environment, growth and reproduction – different in size, shape and activites

Plasma membrane

Distinct entity – outer membrane sparates metabolic activities – does not isolate the cell interior – water, carbon, and oxygen can enter freely – nutrients, ions and other substance must be escorted

DNA

In eukaryotic cells – nucleus – in prokaryotic cells – nucleoid

Cytoplasm

Between plasma membrane and DNA – semifluid matrix and structural components – roles in protein synthesis, energy conversions and other vital task – hold many ribosomes
